Maa Brahmacharini is worshiped on the second day of Navratri. She was born as the daughter of Daksh Prajapati at Himavant. This is the unmarried form of Parvati when she was pleasing lord shiva. After such a hard struggle she blesses by Lord Brahma and then married to the shiva.

This form is the symbol of continuous efforts and self-belief. She worships happiness in life. She gives the courage to deal with the problems in life.

How is Maa Brahmcharini symbolized?

She wore a white grab. She walked barefoot. There is a garland in her right hand. And ewer in her left hand. It is the most adorable and lovable form of Maa. She is famous as the goddess of love. If there is the worship of this form it devotes to devotion and accomplishment.

She had continuously prayed for Shiv for many years. During this time she did not eat anything. She was pleasing to Shiv. This is the unmarried form of maa due for this reason this name is used for her. 

Story of Maa Brahmcharini

Drik Panchang says maa Bharti is the lord of the mangal. She can deal with spiritual and fortune activities. The person who worships her can deal with all the living conditions easily. During her Tapasaya period, she continuously pleased lord shiv with unshakable faith. She continues that in such harsh weather the will she had at that time is unshakable and unbreakable. Resulted of such a hard effort she blesses by lord Brahma. Then she married lord shiv. This is part of one of the nine forms of Brhmcharini. 

Tapsharini, Aparna, and Ima are other names of Brhmcharini. She is the goddess of the good life with happiness. If you worship her your path will be cleared or you can handle the problem easily. Because she helps you to have that much capability to deal with the problems of life. She helps you to have a calm, kind, loving nature in you. 

About Brahmcharini

This is mentioned in Shivpuran and Ramcharitmanas this is the life phase of Goddess Parvati when she was pleasing the lord shiv. She was just eating fruits and leaving all the facilities of life. After this, She lived on the tree and do the Austerities (Tapasya). 

If you recite her mantra and worship her on the second day of Navratri she will give you happiness in life. And also give you the confidence to deal with the problems of life.

All the forms of Goddess Parvati are indicating different strengths and lessons. This form shows the results of continuous efforts without losing the will. Here Brahma word in the name is for self-punishment, Charini refers to the behave. 

How to worship Maa brahmchairni

First to all the gods or goddesses which you are inviting with Kalash bathe them with the milk, curd, Honey, sugar, etc. Then honored with some flowers on them. Then offer everything which you have taken as prasad. Give the Prashad to the mouth. Everything which you are offering you should offer to all the gods and goddesses along with the Brahmchairini.

Goddess Brahmcharini likes betel leaves and betel nuts. You can offer this to her. Then walked around her state in a clockwise manner. After worshipping all the gods when you start to worship Brahmcharini first take flowers in hand and recite the mantra. After reciting the mantra bather her from the Panchamrit. Then offer flowers, kumkum, and vermillion on her statue. Maa like red flowers a lot so you can also offer this to her. Worship her with ghee and camphor.

To do the pooja of Brahmcharini first take some flowers in your hands and recite the below mantra. 

This is found good if you give something to the priest. There is a belief that if you do this you will get a long and happy life. On the Second Day of Navratri, you can recite these mantras.

Dadhana kara padmabhyamakshamala kamandalu

(-दधाना करपद्माभ्यामक्षमालाकमण्डलू।)

Devi prasidatu mavi Brahmacharinyanuttama

(देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा॥)

Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Brahmacharini Rupena Samsthita

(- या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता।)

Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namah

(नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः।।)

Rules of worshipping Maa Brahmcharini

  • When you are worshipping wear yellow or white cloths
  • The Prashad you are offering should of shite color like Sugar or frozen sugar, panchamrit
  • A lamp should be placed on the Swadisht chakra
  • During the worship recite om en Namah and focus particularly on fruits and liquid diet material.
